Grand Junction Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Needs Assessment Survey

GRAND JUNCTION PARKS, RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE (PROS) NEEDS ASSESSMENT SURVEY

Help shape the future of your community by responding to this survey.

The City of Grand Junction is in the midst of completing a Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Master Plan. This effort is growing out of the Comprehensive Plan process. A $56,250 Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant was secured in mid-2019, which is paying for about half of the cost of the plan. Given the grant, the Master Plan must be completed within two years, which is by the middle of 2021. The current schedule has us meeting this deadline with a scheduled completion at the beginning of 2021. A full inventory of amenities will be completed and parks, recreation and open space needs will be assessed in a Level of Service analysis. The Master Plan also includes completing a feasibility study and concept designs for the most needed and highest priority indoor and outdoor recreation facilities. This survey is the single most important instrument that will be used to assess needs.

Thank you for your participation.

Come join us for the findings presentation to find out what the community wants to see in their parks and recreation system:
PROS Master Plan Findings Presentation: Wed. Oct 21 at 9am: Bookcliff Activity Center, 540 29 ¼ Road OR Wed. Oct 21 at 6pm: City Council Meeting, 250 N. 5th Street (both meetings will cover the same content)

(Note: The survey may be completed on a computer or a mobile device, but a computer is recommended, as it provides the best experience. You may save your responses and return to finish at a later time by clicking the Save and Continue Later link at the top of a page.)

At the end of August, a statistically valid survey was mailed to 6,000 randomly selected Grand Junction households.  This random selection ensures the results are representative of the Grand Junction community.  Those who received the survey are encouraged to complete it and mail it back.  From September 14 – October 2, residents that did not receive the survey through mail are invited to participate in this OPEN LINK online survey. The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete.
